What are the common care practices for oil paintings?
Original oil paintings should be kept out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure not only affects the visual appearance—obstructing details and true colours due to glare—but over time can also alter the pigments, causing fading or bleaching and potentially leading to yellowing.
Dust and dirt naturally accumulate on the surface over time. To clean the painting, use a soft cotton cloth and gently wipe in circular motions. Avoid using any chemicals, as they can damage the paint.
Store oil paintings in a stable environment, away from excessive humidity, heat, or cold. Avoid placing them in bathrooms or directly above radiators, as such conditions can deteriorate the materials and compromise the artwork’s longevity.

What are giclee prints?
Giclée is a French term meaning “to spray,” referring to the fine art printing process used by high-resolution inkjet printers. To create a giclée print, the original painting is carefully scanned or photographed to produce a high-quality digital file, which is then printed onto archival-quality paper.
This method is considered the gold standard for producing fine art prints, known for their exceptional detail, colour accuracy, and longevity. Giclée prints can last between 150 to 200 years without significant fading, ensuring they retain their beauty for generations.
Not only do these prints offer remarkable durability, but their ability to reproduce the richness and true tones of the original artwork makes them an almost exact replica—an ideal alternative to owning an original painting.
